- The surface should be dry, stable, and free of dust, grease, oil, and loose materials.
- Remove loose material by brushing or sanding with a machine and vacuum.
- Fill all cracks and joints with an Epoxy Putty.
Surface Preparation (Metallic Surfaces):
- Ensure it's dry, free of dust, dirt, and any poorly adhering coatings.
- For rusty areas, consider applying our rust converter, Neodur Metalforce.
Priming:
- Apply Epoxy Primer on your substrate.
- This stabilizes the surface and seals pores for better adhesion.
- In cases of highly porous substrates, you might need an extra primer layer.
Application (Smooth Polyurethane Coating):
- Mix the two components A & B and stir for 3-5 minutes.
- Ensure thorough mixing, and then apply the mixture. Once the primer is dry, apply the first layer of polyurethane coating (Neodur Special).
- Apply the second layer in the same way, about 24 hours later (consider atmospheric conditions).
Application (Anti-slip Polyurethane Coating):
- Follow the same steps as for the smooth coating.
- When mixing the final layer, include the anti-slip additive (Neotex® Antiskid M) at a ratio of 1.5-2.5%.
- Stir well and apply it on the surface.
Application (Anti-slip Polyurethane Coating with Quartz Sand):
- After priming and applying the first layer, broadcast Quartz Sand until saturated.
- Remove loose grains after drying and sand any surface irregularities.
- Seal with Neodur® Special, depending on slip resistance desired.
Special Notes (Important for Success):
- Avoid applying Neodur Special in wet conditions or during expected rain.
- Store components at suitable temperatures and mix them in the shade.
- Don't over-stir to avoid air bubbles.
