Product Application Guide

Materials Needed:

  • Strongcoat Primer/S
  • Griptop P
  • Roller
  • Brush
  • Sandpaper
  • Spray machine (optional)
  • Silica sand (optional for slip resistance)

Step 1: Surface Preparation

  • Begin by thoroughly cleaning the concrete surface using a concrete surface cleaner. Remove all dirt, dust, and debris from the floor.
  • Inspect the floor for any oil traces and use a degreaser to remove them completely.
  • Identify and repair any holes, cracks, or rough spots on the concrete surface.
  • Once the patches are dry, use sandpaper to smooth out any uneven areas and rough spots. Sweep or vacuum up any dust created during this process.

Step 2: Primer Application

  • Ensure the Strongcoat Primer/S components are well mixed.
  • Use a roller to apply the Strongcoat Primer/S evenly over the prepared concrete surface. Make sure to start from one corner and work your way towards the exit to avoid walking on the coated area.
  • Pay special attention to edges and corners, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
  • Allow the primer to completely dry. If additional coats are needed, wait until the previous coat is dry before applying the next one.

Step 3: Griptop P Application

  • Thoroughly mix the Griptop P components to ensure a consistent mixture.
  • Use a brush, epoxy roller, or a spray machine to apply the first coat of Griptop P evenly across the primed surface. Similar to the primer application, start from a corner and work towards the exit.
  • Optional: If you want to add extra slip resistance, you can broadcast silica sand onto the wet Griptop P coating while it is still tacky. Make sure to evenly distribute the silica sand.
  • Allow the first coat of Griptop P to cure for the recommended time, usually within 24 hours.
  • Apply the second coat of Griptop P within 24 hours of the first coat. Ensure even coverage, and pay attention to edges and corners.
  • Refer to the technical datasheet for Griptop P for more detailed information on drying times, coverage rates, and any specific instructions.
